Senegal suspends expulsion decision on former Chadian president
|

| Senegal on Sunday suspended its decision to repatriate former Chadian president Hissene Habre to his country, Foreign Minister Madicke Niang announced.
|
|
The decision was announced by the foreign minister on state TV. Niang said the decision was made at the request of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay. Habre has spent more than two decades in exile in Senegal. He was accused of committing crimes against humanity.
