Indian delegation in Seychelles to boost economic partnership

| A three-man Indian delegation is in the Seychelles as part of a mission to identify business sectors where more Indian companies can invest, APA learns in the Seychellois capital Victoria.
Nalin Surie, India’s secretary of external affairs who is leading the delegation, said on Wednesday in Victoria that the aim of the visit is also to try to find ways and means of strengthening the close partnership between the two countries.

Her said both countries have been very close to each other over the years and India has extended its help to the islands in times of need.
He said India, together with other countries, is helping Seychelles to fight piracy in the region.

Seychelles to elect new parliament in 3 months
The Seychelles is to embrace election for a new National Assembly (parliament) within the next three months following the dissolution of the previous one on Tuesday by a motion passed by two thirds of its 34 members.

Presidential elections kick off in Seychelles
Seychelles entered the first day of three-day presidential elections on Thursday. A total of 29 polling stations, one for each of the 25 districts, are set up across the Indian Ocean island country for the fifth presidential elections since Seychelles returned to multi-party politics in 1991.
