Senegal, once considered a francophone cradle in West Africa, is now increasingly turning from French to the local Wolof language. Scholars say this is a boost for democracy, but also a problem in some regions of the country.

South Sudan's President Salva Kiir Mayardit vowed to resolve the oil dispute between his country and Sudan via dialogue to reach a fair agreement to allow flow of south Sudan's crude oil, according to a statement issued by the South Sudan government on Tuesday.
